Calendar Description : The craft of tale and the presentation
of discourse:
From idea to concept, Writing and Design for New Media 2 will
explore the development and articulation of an idea through to the final
concept for production. This term will concentrate on the following topics:
non-linear development processes; scriptwriting & storyboards; production
design and final project presentation.
Course Learning Outcomes:
- maintain aesthetic quality in computer-based materials
- use of a variety of animation, illustration and authoring software
- prepare effective and interactive illustrated, animated, audio, video
and computer graphic materials
- exhibit creativity in achieving a final product
- use constructive feedback effectively by applying it to new media
projects
- apply the technical principles and practical applications of digital
technology to new media production
- distinguish between normalities and abnormalities in a variety of
interactive, graphic, textual, video, audio, optical and digital system
devices
- use digital effects to enhance new media productions
- ensure compliance with the regulatory and legal framework as it applies
to the new media industry
- adhere to all copyright regulations as they apply to the incorporation
of appropriate graphical, musical selections into production content
- prepare budgets for new media productions witch reflect and understanding
of how a specific company is funded and how the enterprise operates

Calendar Description:
From concept, in through production to product. The writer, artist,
designer, musician, programmer and producer all must be directed by
an individual who understands each of their media well enough to get
the best from them to create an innovative and efficient production.
This course will explore the role of the Art Director and their function
in MultiMedia.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
