why i teach what i teach:
Our colleges need much more than just basic software instruction. As an Artistic Director, my role is to find a balance between the technical and the aesthetic and to ensure a measure of substance. The bells and whistles are enticing and “sexy” but, our dazzling computer dances must reach beyond our eyes and confront our intellect. We must provide our students with technique, philosophy and history of design, so that they can understand that their work need not be arbitrary nor subject to what is currently in vogue.
