Garamond Today
In the start of the 20th century, type foundries were searching for a fresh new typeface. This was the start of a Garamond "rebirth". Stemple's Garamond was by far the most respected. It was released in 1924 and both the roman and the italic were based on the original Garamond.
Here are some examples of uses of Garamond in advertisements today.
Ironically, most of today's Garamond's are not actually based on his designs. they are based on the French type designer Jean Jannon who wasn't born until 19 years after Garamond's death.
